Our Philosophy

At Salal Mental Health training, we believe mental wellness should be rooted in strength and connection, much like the resilient salal plant of our coastal forests. Founded by a psychiatric nurse and Mental Health First Aid instructor, we provide training and education that reduce stigma and equip people with the skills to respond with confidence and compassion to mental health challenges. Inspired by our local landscapes of British Columbia, we are committed to fostering healthier, more supportive communities.

We acknowledge with respect that our work takes place on the unceded territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Peoples.

We are grateful to live, learn, and connect on these lands.
