Mental Health Training & Workshops
At Salal Mental Health Training, we deliver evidence-based, practical mental health education for workplaces, unions, schools, teams, and community groups. Training is available in-person across BC and virtually Canada-wide.

Our mission is to reduce stigma, build resilience, and equip people with the tools to support themselves and others. We offer two core training streams: Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) certification and custom workshops tailored to organizational needs.

1) Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Training
Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is a nationally recognized program from the Mental Health Commission of Canada (MHCC). This evidence-based training equips participants with the confidence and practical skills needed to support mental health and substance use challenges in the workplace and community.

Format Options
1. MHFA Essentials (6 hours)
A shorter, awareness-focused course designed to build foundational skills in recognizing and responding to mental health and substance-use concerns.
-
Format: 6 hours total (delivered in one full day or two shorter sessions)
-
Focus: Confidence, awareness, and early response
-
Certification: No official MHCC certificate, but provides a strong, practical foundation

2. MHFA Standard Certification (12 hours)
